Trademark Registration
Requirements:
- Information of applicant: name, address, and nationality
- Classes and specification of goods/services.
- A certified copy of the priority document. (If claiming priority)
- A certified (original) copy of the Certificate of Incorporation of the applicant together with a certified (original) copy of its Trade License(s) corresponding to the same trade in connection with which the relevant trademark is used
- Power of Attorney given by the name of the trademark owner name with include agent full name and notarized Power of Attorney legalized by the competent authorities and duly authenticated by the Ethiopia embassy
Time for a trademark registration: 4~5 Months
Patent Registration
Requirements:
- Power of attorney legalized by the Ethiopian Consulate.
- Full particulars of the applicant.y
- Deed of assignment document legalized by the Ethiopian Consulate if the applicant is not the inventor.
- Specifications including claims, drawings, and abstract in English or Amharic language.
- Certified copy of the priority document if claimed.
Time for a Patent Registration: Months
