Trademark Registration
Requirements:
- Information of applicant: name, address, and nationality
- Classes and specification of goods/services.
- A certified copy of the priority document. (If claiming priority)
- A copy of the mark.
- Colored copy of the Commercial Registration or the contract of corporation
- POA form for use in Egypt. This POA shall be notarized and legalized up to the Egyptian Consulate. The mark can be filed without the POA by submitting an undertaking to submit the POA within 4 months of the filing date
Time for a trademark registration: 14~15 Months
Patent Registration
Requirements:
- The applicant's particulars: name, address, and nationality
- Notarized and Legalized Power of Attorney up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant.
- Notarized and Legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant. (If the applicant is not the inventor)
Note that the DOA isn’t required in case the application depends on the PCT application and the names, addresses of the inventors are listed in the publication as filed in the Egyptian application.
- Certified Priority documents (if priority is claimed
- Notarized and Legalized Commercial Registration Certificate up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant, if the applicant is a company.
Note that the Commercial Registration Certificate isn’t required in case the application depends on the PCT application.
- Specifications, Abstract and Claims Drawings (If Any) along with Arabic translations.
Time for a trademark registration: 3 Years
Industrial Design Registration
Requirements:
- The applicant's particulars: name, address and nationality
- The designer's particulars: name, address and nationality
- Notarized and Legalized Power of Attorney up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant
- Notarized and Legalized Deed of Assignment up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant. (if the applicant is not the designer)
- Notarized and Legalized Commercial Registration Certificate up to the Egyptian Consulate in the domicile of the applicant, if the applicant is a company.
- Four representations (photographs or drawings) of the design or model .
- Certified Priority documents (if priority is claimed)
